BASIC SCAFFOLDING COURSE

| ~ Course Overview |
This five-day training program
focuses primarily on the construction, mining, manufacturing
and related industries, etc, where staff need to be able to
erect and dismantle modular and pre-fabricated scaffolding,
use safety harnesses and erect static lines/safety nets. |
| ~ Recommended For |
| Any person who has to erect and
dismantle modular and pre-fabricated scaffolding, use safety
harnesses and erect static lines/safety nets, etc. |
~ Pre-requisites |
| The candidate must be 18 years of
age or older and have a sound knowledge of the English language. |
| ~ Learning Outcomes |
- Take precautions to prevent accidents when erecting or
dismantling scaffolding.
- Work safely and confidently at heights using the correct
harnesses.
- Erect and dismantle pre-fabricated scaffolding.
- Identify defective equipment.
- Erect and dismantle a cantilevered platform hoist.
- Erect a safety net and static line.

focuses primarily on the construction, mining, manufacturing
and related industries, where staff need to be able to erect
tube and coupler scaffolds, erect and dismantle spurred scaffolds
and drop scaffolds. |
| ~ Recommended For |
| Any person who has to erect tube
and coupler scaffolds, erect and dismantle spurred scaffolds
and cantilevered scaffolds. |
~ Pre-requisites |
The candidate must be 18 years
of age or over, have a sound knowledge of the English language
and hold a Basic Scaffolding certificate of competency. |
| ~ Learning Outcomes |
- Take precautions to prevent accidents when erecting scaffolding.
- Identify defects found in scaffolding equipment.
- Describe and demonstrate the correct procedure for erecting
a spurred scaffold.
- Erect and dismantle cantilevered scaffolds.
- Erect and secure a cantilevered crane-loading platform.

ADVANCED SCAFFOLDING
COURSE (UTP NEG022A) |
| ~ Course Overview |
This three day training program
focuses primarily on the construction, mining, manufacturing
and related industries, where staff need to be able to erect
and dismantle hung scaffolds, erect and dismantle suspended
scaffolds. |
| ~ Recommended For |
| Any person who has to erect and
dismantle hung scaffolds, erect and dismantle suspended scaffolds
and calculate the amount of counter weight for suspended scaffolds. |
~ Pre-requisites |
| The candidate must be 18 years of
age or over, have a sound knowledge of the English language
and hold a Basic and Intermediate Scaffolding certificate of
competency. |
| ~ Learning Outcomes |
- Take precautions to prevent accidents when erecting scaffolding.
- Identify defects found in scaffolding equipment.
- Describe and demonstrate the correct procedure for erecting
a suspended scaffold.
- Erect and dismantle hung scaffolds from chains, wire
rope and tubes.
- Erect and secure counter weights to a suspended scaffold.
