BASIC RIGGING COURSE

| ~ Course Overview |
This five-day training program
focuses primarily on the construction, mining, manufacturing
and related industries, where staff need to be able to erect
structural steel, use safety harnesses and erect static lines/safety
nets. |
| ~ Recommended For |
| Any person who has to erect structural
steel, hang chain blocks, safety nets, etc. |
~ Pre-requisites |
| The candidate must be 18 years of
age or over, have a sound knowledge of the English language
and hold a Dogging certificate of competency. |
| ~ Learning Outcomes |
- Take precautions to prevent accidents when erecting structural
steel.
- Work safely and confidently at heights using the correct
harnesses.
- Describe and demonstrate the use of rope blocks and tackle.
- Identify and demonstrate the correct use of winches.
- Erect and dismantle a cantilevered platform hoist.
- Erect a safety net and static line.

INTERMEDIATE
RIGGING COURSE (UTP NEG017A)

| ~ Course Overview |
This three day training program
focuses primarily on the construction, mining, manufacturing
and related industries, etc, where staff need to be able to
erect tilt-up panels, erect and dismantle lattice boom and
tower cranes and perform demolition work. |
| ~ Recommended For |
| Any person who has to erect tilt-up
panels, conduct multiple crane lifts, erect and dismantle cranes
or perform demolition work, etc. |
~ Pre-requisites |
| The candidate must be 18 years of
age or over, have a sound knowledge of the English language
and hold a Dogging and Basic Rigging certificate of competency.

| ~ Learning Outcomes |
- Take precautions to prevent accidents when erecting tilt-up
panels.
- Calculate and supervise multiple crane lifts.
- Describe and demonstrate the correct procedures for demolition.
- Erect and dismantle lattice and tower cranes.
- Erect and secure a cantilevered crane-loading platform.

ADVANCED RIGGING
COURSE (UTP NEG018A)

| ~ Course Overview |
This three day training program
focuses primarily on the construction, mining, manufacturing
and related industries, where staff need to be able to erect
and dismantle hung scaffolds, erect and dismantle suspended
scaffolds, erect span ropes and gin poles. |
| ~ Recommended For |
| Any person who has to erect and
dismantle hung scaffolds, erect and dismantle suspended scaffolds,
calculate the amount of counter weight for suspended scaffolds
erect span ropes and gin poles. |
~ Pre-requisites |
| The candidate must be 18 years of
age or over, have a sound knowledge of the English language
and hold a Dogging, Basic and Intermediate Rigging certificate
of competency. |
| ~ Learning Outcomes |
- Take precautions to prevent accidents when erecting suspended
scaffolding, span ropes and gin poles.
- Identify defects found in rigging equipment.
- Describe and demonstrate the correct procedure for erecting
a suspended scaffold, span rope and gin pole.
- Erect and dismantle hung scaffolds from chains, wire
rope and tubes. Erect and secure counter weights to a suspended
scaffold.
