RECREATIONAL SKIPPERS TICKET (RST)         

~ Overview

Holding an RST will ensure that people in charge of recreation vessels have the
minimum skills and knowledge required to safely protect themselves, passengers and
others in the water ways.

The WA Recreational Skipper’s Ticket (RST) is a qualification based on a set of National marine safely competencies that a skipper must demonstrate to an authorised assessor. Holding an RST will ensure that people in charge of recreation vessels have theminimum skills and knowledge required to safely protect themselves, passengers and others in the water ways.


~ Duration

One full day course (8 hours) Half day options or assessment only option available for experienced Boat operators.


~ Recommended for 

It is a requirement by Law that any person in charge of a recreational vessel with a motor of 4.5 kilowatts (6HP) or more must hold an RST

 

~ Pre-Requisite

Eyesight Test for individuals who do not hold a current drivers licence

For individuals under 18, you must have a letter of consent by a parent or legal guardian 

Must be 14 years of age or over


~ Assessments

Theory Training, Theory testing (80% pass mark required), Practical Training and Practical Assessing.


~ Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of these courses, the participant will be able to:

• Be issued with a WA Recreational Skipper’s Ticket

 • Operate a recreational vessel with a motor of 4.5 kilowatts (6HP) or more

Training can be conducted at our training centre located at the Aquarama Marina, East Fremantle WA & 12 Sparks Road Henderson, WA.

 

~ Resources Required

Workbook may be downloaded online or collected in Person at Marine House – 1 Essex Street Fremantle
