| ~ Course Overview |
| This is a half-day training program
that focuses on staff taking on the roles and responsibilities
of Wardens. How to react and deal with workplace emergencies
and the safe evacuation of personnel. |
| ~ Recommended For |
| Fire Wardens & people who need
to react and take appropriate action in the event of an emergency
situation. |
| ~ Learning Outcomes |
- Explain the ECO structure and Warden responsibilities
.
- Describe how to prepare occupants for evacuation situations.
- Describe and demonstrate how emergencies are reported.
- Identify and explain workplace emergency systems, signals,
instructions and designated personnel.
- Describe and demonstrate how to evacuate from an endangered
area, using the R.A.C.E. method.
- Fire spread and its affects. The classes of fire, combustion,
etc.
- Select and use fire equipment appropriately.

COURSE IN BREATHING
APPARATUS USE |
| ~ Course Overview |
This two-day course is designed
to give participants a basic understanding of the operation
and practical wearing of self-contained breathing apparatus
|
| ~ Recommended For |
| People involved in occupations,
where the use of SCBA may be required. |
| ~ Learning Outcomes |
On completion of the course participants
will be able to:
- Understand SCBA in irrespirable atmospheres.
- Understand operation of a SCBA set.
- Understand & demonstrate service and inspection procedures.
- Demonstrate & be competent in the wearing of a SCBA
set with training exercises involving irrespirable atmospheres.
- Understand and demonstrate correct entry control procedures.
- Demonstrate team working skills when using SCBA equipment.

spaces or darkness. Facial hair must be limited to trimmed
moustaches only, no beards are allowed as AS-1715-1994. |

USE PORTABLE FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT (PRMPFES05B) |
| ~ Course Overview |
This 4 hour course is targeted primarily at the general population who may be required to respond to an emergency or use a fire extinguisher or hose reel to control a small fire. |
| ~ Recommended For |
| People in all walks of life who may be required to operate firefighting equipment prior to the arrival of the emergency services. |
| ~ Learning Outcomes |
On completion, participants will
be able to:
- Understand the basic principles of fire and combustion.
- Recognise the classes of fire.
- Operate various types of firefighting equipment.
- Demonstrate personal safety when operating fire equipment.

COURSE IN CONFINED
SPACE ENTRY |
| ~ Course Overview |
This three-day course is designed
for staff who may need to enter confined spaces as part of
their work duties. To AS 2865-1995 |
| ~ Recommended For |
Permanent staff members or contractors,
who are required to have a practical & theoretical understanding
of confined space legislation. |
| ~ Learning Outcomes |
On successful completion of the
course participants will be able to:
- Understand current legislation, terms and definitions.
- Use harness lines, slings tripod and rescue equipment.
- Operate SCBA in hazardous atmospheres.
- Understand & demonstrate hazard reduction & risk
assessment.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Operate and monitor atmospheric testing equipment.
- Consider first aid requirements.
- Use & demonstrate fire fighting equipment and methods.

breathing apparatus on the course, facial hair must
be limited to trimmed moustaches only, no beards are allowed
