| ~ Course Overview |
This five-day training program
focuses primarily on the construction, mining, manufacturing
and other related industries, where staff need to be able
to inspect, select and apply slings etc, also direct the crane
operator in the movement of the load. |
| ~ Recommended For |
| Any person who has to make a decision
on what size sling or shackle to use and how to attach it to
the load. |
~ Pre-requisites |
| The candidate must be 18 years of
age and have a sound knowledge of the English language. |
| ~ Learning Outcomes |
- Take precautions to prevent accidents when moving loads
handled by cranes.
- Safely and efficiently sling and handle loads.
- Describe and demonstrate SWL for chains, wire rope etc.
- Identify and demonstrate hand, whistle and radio signals.
- Describe and detect defects in chains, wire rope and associated
lifting equipment.
